EruDesk, step by step

How it works

Students work in their notebooks and ask questions out loud. EruDesk helps them understand each step, with explanations and diagrams on a tablet or TV.

iPad · Android tablets

A notebook in front, help alongside.

Stand the tablet beside the notebook. It shows explanations and lets the student speak to EruDesk through its own microphone. The desk remains the place to think and write.

  1. Sign in on the tablet

Open EruDesk on the tablet and sign in with your household’s email address and password.

  2. Choose a lesson to work on

On the tablet, tap the student’s name, then choose a subject and a lesson.

  3. Talk, think and write

Hold the microphone button to speak, then release it to send the question. The student listens to the explanation and continues working on paper.

TV · HDMI screen · companion phone

See the explanation. Talk through the question.

The TV displays explanations and diagrams. Students choose a lesson with the remote and use an Android phone or iPhone to speak to EruDesk.

  1. Link the phone to the TV

Open EruDesk on the TV. Sign in on the phone, then scan the TV’s QR code or enter the displayed code.

  2. Choose the student and lesson

Use the remote to choose the student’s name, then a subject and a lesson. Explanations appear on the TV.

  3. Ask a question

Hold the phone’s microphone button to speak, then release it to send. The student follows the explanation and returns to the exercise on paper.

The phone also lets students choose their name and discuss what they want to work on with EruDesk. The lesson is displayed on the TV.

Google TV and Android TV

Google TV Streamer (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV run Android TV OS, the platform intended for the EruDesk TV app. Classic Chromecast devices cast content and cannot install this Android application.

Amazon Fire TV

Fire TV devices do not all use the same operating system. The EruDesk Android app is intended for Fire OS. Models running Vega OS, such as Fire TV Stick 4K Select, need a separate application.

My space

Prepare lessons and follow progress.

In My space, an adult sets up each student’s learning space: their level, the lessons offered and the topics to work on with EruDesk.

  1. Add the students

Add each student’s first name, level and the language they will use to talk with EruDesk.

  2. Choose lessons and what to work on

Lessons at the student’s level are offered automatically. Choose which remain available and discuss the topic of the next session with EruDesk.

  3. See where practice would help

For each objective worked on, see what is secure and what still needs practice. Useful guidance for supporting the student, without marks or rankings.

EruDesk helps students understand, put ideas into words and try another method. Students do the thinking and writing on their own paper.
